Privacy Policy
This policy explains how ValYou handles information when you request an account, use the platform, or visit a business through a ValYou card. Customer contact details are optional; you can continue to Google without sharing them.
1. Who handles your information
ValYou operates the platform and handles information used to provide accounts, support and the service. When you share contact details on a business’s customer page, the business named on that page receives them, and ValYou stores them for that business. The business is responsible for its use of its customer list. Contact that business about its use of your details, or contact ValYou at the email below for platform questions.
2. Information we handle
- Business accounts and enquiries: the name, email, phone number, business information and messages you submit; account, subscription, location, card and report settings; and uploaded business logos.
- Optional customer details: the name and/or phone number you choose to submit. We also record the related business, card, location, submission time and privacy-notice version. Repeated submissions with the same phone number may be associated with an existing contact at that business.
- Engagement and service information: card interactions, timestamps, NFC/QR source where available, browser/device information, and technical identifiers used to estimate visitor activity, prevent duplicate counting and protect the service. These estimates are not proof of a person’s identity or a completed Google review.
- Support: messages and account information associated with a support request, including information shared through the dashboard’s support chat.
3. Why information is used
Information is used to respond to enquiries, manage accounts and subscriptions, connect cards to the correct business, provide customer lists and engagement reports, deliver service emails, assist users and prevent abuse. Businesses use the details visitors choose to share to maintain their customer lists. Saving a name or phone number does not subscribe you to promotional messages or give a business blanket permission to market to you.
4. Who receives information
The relevant business’s authorised account users can access its customer list. ValYou administrators may access information to operate and support the service. Infrastructure and service providers process information needed for their functions, including hosting, email delivery and dashboard support chat. The current service uses Contabo for hosting, Brevo for email delivery and Tawk.to for support chat. A support enquiry or email is processed by the provider used to deliver it; the entire customer list is not included in weekly report emails.
Weekly report emails contain contact counts, not collected customer names or phone numbers. When you continue to Google, Google handles activity on its own service under its policies. ValYou does not put the optional name or phone number into the Google review destination link. External services may process information in countries other than your own.
5. Cookies and visitor estimates
ValYou uses cookies for sign-in and session security. The public customer page can remember an English/Arabic preference for up to one year. A card visit can set a random visitor cookie for up to one year to help estimate new visitors and reduce duplicate counts. That cookie does not contain the submitted name or phone number; browsers may clear or limit it earlier. Blocking or clearing cookies can affect sign-in, preferences and the accuracy of visitor estimates. Dashboard support chat may also use its provider’s cookies.
6. Retention and deletion
Customer contact entries currently have no automatic expiry. They remain in the business’s Clients section until the business deletes them or they are removed through a handled deletion request. Businesses should review their lists and remove details they no longer need.
Deleting a client entry removes its stored name and phone number from the active customer list. Limited submission records remain for duplicate prevention and historical report counts; those records do not contain the submitted name or phone number. Account, enquiry, support and technical records do not all have a single automatic deletion period. Retention depends on whether they are still needed to provide the service, resolve support or billing issues, protect the service, or meet applicable obligations. Contact us about a particular record. Deleting an active entry does not mean every historical backup or third-party record is immediately erased.
7. Your choices and requests
You can leave both contact fields blank or choose “Skip to Google review.” You can ask the business to correct or delete your contact entry. For information held by ValYou about your account or use of the platform, email the address below to request access, correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need enough information to verify the request and identify the correct business or account before taking action. Available rights and any limits depend on applicable law.
8. Security and updates
The service uses account authentication and business-level access controls to restrict access. No online service can promise complete security. Keep account credentials private and report suspected unauthorised access to ValYou. This page may be updated as the service changes; the date above identifies this version.
